The theme is intentionally broad and the submission simply needs to be clearly related to mental health in order to be accepted. We will accept anything from paintings based on a personal experience to digital modern pop art about celebrities who have struggled with mental health.

There is no entry fee, and all interested participants of any age are welcome to participate.

When submitting, please provide your name and art piece’s title. You also have the option to designate a sale price (100% of proceeds will go to you) and you may also include a description of your piece that is less than 250 characters which we will display next to the submission on the exhibition day.

Digital submissions must be emailed to in JPEG or PDF format by April 20th. When submitting, please include your preferred printing dimensions. Subconscious will print your submission and display it on exhibition day.

Physical submissions must be delivered to Subconscious by April 20th, so please account for shipping / delivery time. Subconscious will do its best to personally work with you to ensure that you can send your art as conveniently as possible and may even be able to offer subsidies for shipping fees. Please email as soon as possible if you are interested in submitting a physical submission and we will do our best to respond within one business day.


Both physical and digital pieces will be accepted, including, but not limited to, photographs, written pieces, paintings, digital art, and craft art.
Please note that 2-dimensional pieces cannot be larger than 5ft(w) x 5ft(h) and 3-dimensional pieces cannot be larger than 5ft(h) x 3ft(w) x 3ft(d).


In an effort to support participating artists, all submissions will be open to purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis on the exhibition day on April 23rd. Artists are encouraged to set their own prices, which should be emailed to


Due to limited space at the gallery, not all art pieces may be able to be displayed during the exhibition. However, we will do our best to display all submissions and will notify you if your submission cannot be displayed.

Artists may attend the exhibition but will not be allowed to present and verbally explain their art pieces. Since not all artists will be able to attend the exhibition, we would like to create a fair environment where all artists have an equal chance to earn votes.


Art pieces will be voted on by attendees of the one-day exhibition on April 23rd. Each attendee will be given a voting sheet as they walk through the door. Art pieces will be kept anonymous so as to create an unbiased environment, and each attendee may vote for up to 5 art pieces. At the end of the event, the artworks with the most votes win.

The submission with the most votes will win $500, the second most $250, and the third most $100.
