Content Principles

Our goal is to create captivating mental health related content that resonates with a millennial audience.

  • Authentic - in your own voice
  • Rich media - include photos, videos
  • Short form - 500 words or less

We believe great content can cover many topics. We encourage you to think about what you’re passionate about and would like to share with the world. On our website, you’ll see our article base divided into several broad categories:

  • Stories - Your own personal experiences with mental health
  • News - Coverage of mental health related news and current events
  • Research - Coverage of biological, clinical, or sociological research
  • Editorial - Opinion pieces about mental health related topics

Content also lives in many mediums. While the bulk of our articles are text based, we encourage all Contributors to embed photos, videos, and other rich media into each piece. If you are interested in working with us to produce original rich media content (e.g., photography, videography, graphic design), please drop us a note - we would love to work with you.

We take pride in having a flexible timeline and doing our very best to accommodate our contributors' timing. While every piece of content is unique, below is an example of our timeline:

  • Optional: brainstorm topic (1 week)
  • Create content (2+ weeks)
  • Submit your content (5 minutes)
  • Subconscious editors review (1-2 weeks)
  • Revise content (1-2 weeks)
  • Publish (2 weeks)
