May is Mental Health Month 2016

Subconscious and our affiliates are proud to lead the observance of May as Mental Health Month. Originating in 1949, Mental Health Month was established to as an outreach program to spread awareness about behavioral health across the world through various channels. As technology evolved over the years, we are able to reach a broader audience through new channels, including social media and internet marketing. We invite you to join us and our partners to spread the word that mental health is something that is worthy of everyone’s attention.

May MHM2

This year’s theme for Mental Health Month aligns perfectly with our mission here at Subconscious. Life with a Mental Illness calls on individuals to share what life with a mental illness feels like for them in words, pictures and video by tagging their social media posts with #mentalillnessfeelslike. Posts will be collected by our friends at Mental Health America and displayed at mentalhealthamerica.net/feelslike.

We encourage everyone to share their own experiences and perspectives to lend a voice to those who may struggle to find the words to describe their own struggles. Collecting the stories using the #mentalhealthfeelslike hash tag will aggregate stories from around the world and show that no one is alone in their feelings. Sharing our stories is the solution to dismissing negative attitudes and misconceptions around mental illnesses, so join us in this very worthwhile cause today!
